Christmas is a magical time of year: the cold, the lights and the music take us back in time and allow us to savour the colours of the festive season. Around the Hotel Tritone, the City of Abano Terme offers a rich and varied programme to entertain the locals and Guests alike And in some cases, it might be worth going as far as Padua for some special, enchanting initiatives. 

ABANO STREET CHRISTMAS FROM 6 DECEMBER 2024 TO 6 JANUARY 2025

Abano Street Christmas is an initiative of the municipality of Abano Terme in partnership with the hoteliers’ and shopkeepers’ associations, and will animate the area throughout the festive period. 

The main activities scheduled are: 

1. Video Mapping show “A Sparkling Christmas” on the Hotel dell’Orologio between 17:00 and 20:00 on all public holidays and pre-holidays before Christmas, and all days between Boxing Day and Epiphany. 

2. The Christmas Market in the pedestrian area, from 13 December to 6 January. 

3. The events at the Pietro d’Abano Theatre, including: 

• • Che Baker Project (22 December);
  • A Christmas Carol (26 to 28 December);
  • Tango Show (29 December);
  • Homage to Frank Sinatra (4 January 2025).

4. The Appointments in the City, a rich programme of open-air entertainment, including: 

1. • Christmas concert with the C Family Quartet and the Bub Band (21 December);
   • Music with Dikenson and the Fanfare of the Alpini, and the Flight of the Balloons (22 December);
   • Historical Carriage Ride (23 December);
   • The Travelling Christmas Carrilon (24 December);
   • Stilt-walkers and acrobats in ‘White Christmas’, and Concert with the C Family Quartet (26 December);
   • Incanto di Natale (Christmas enchantment), parade with unusual outfits, Piping in Concert and Music with Dikenson (28 December);
   • End-of-Year concert with the C Family Quartet (29 December);
   • Gran Dama in Concert (30 December);
   • Piano Sky, concert on suspended piano (2 January);
   • The princesses, dancing parade (4 January);
   • Big Violinist, the giant violinist (5 January);
   • Animation with Radio Company and Antiques Market (6 January).

THE MOST IMPORTANT INITIATIVES IN PADUA

For those who want to experience the thrill of this winter sport, the ice skating rink in Prato della Valle, Padua, has an irresistible charm. You can rent skates and the necessary equipment on site and enjoy the 1200 square metre–rink, with a dedicated area for beginners. .

In addition, 60 light installations festively dress up the city’s most famous buildings and views, and videomapping projects its lights onto Palazzo del Capitanio, the Loggia della Gran Guardia and Palazzo del Monte di Pietà. On the Liston, in front of Palazzo Moroni, there will be a large Christmas tree in the centre of the shopping area.
