Maître Stefano retires and says goodbye to our guests
After many years of work, the last eight of which were spent at Hotel Tritone, Maître Stefano will put on his iconic bow tie to end his employment on 31 December 2023. With the new year, he will begin his life in retirement, which will have a totally different rhythm.
Stefano, what will you do from 1 January when you retire?
I will be a full-time dad and spend much more time with my family. Those who work in the hotel industry know that we Maître (and the rest of the staff too, actually), are always busy on Saturdays, Sundays and during the holidays. When I retire I hope to rediscover that normality of always being there, of being with family.
Your have many hobbies: music, photography, reading… Which one will you devote the most time to?
Definitely music! I will practise more on the piano and guitar. I also want to involve my son (who is 13) in my passion for music. We already enjoy playing the guitar together, and now I will have more time to do it.
Back to the Triton: how was the handover with the new Maître?
In him (Francesco, ed) I found my ideal wingman. He’s an energetic professional like me, and that’s not so obvious because usually the Maître of hotels in the same category as the Tritone are a bit static, a bit stiff. Moreover, having seen Francesco at work in these weeks of handover, I must say that I also like him because he is really very attentive to customers, who are at the heart of our work.
What is your fondest memory of these years?
The guests of Hotel Tritone! Nowhere else has guests like those who stay at Hotel Tritone. I am really proud of them. I am proud of them because they do not see me as a number but as a person, which does not happen as a matter of course.
What will you miss about Hotel Tritone?
Everything! I will leave a piece of my heart behind here. I will definitely miss the customers, the owners and all my colleagues.
What do you think will be the future of Hotel Tritone?
It will continue to improve to achieve its goals and will always raise the bar a little higher. This hotel has a great and important tradition to carry on and I am sure it will continue to improve, year after year.
Would you like to say goodbye to all the guests of the Tritone?
Of course! I have, of course, already started to bid farewell to the hotel’s guests. I promised to visit them in the coming months. Anyway, I bid a fond farewell to everyone: I will carry you all in my thoughts, and maybe when I play my piano I will dedicate a song to you.
