Tritone’s smoking or Cigar Room has always been a pearl within this spacious hotel. It is an intimate place, a little refuge, where guests can spend a few moments during their stay enjoying a cigar from the Hotel’s fine collection or a glass of excellent rum.

The aim of this room is, as in all the Hotel’s rooms, to transmit serenity to those who spend their time here. To help us achieve this goal even more effectively, the Cigar Room has a new design, conceived by the General Manager Walter Poli.

Colours and materials that leave a deep impression on the soul

The new shade of teal blue combined with the furniture and wood panelling is the main innovation of the new look of the Cigar Room. Deep and intense feelings of calm are evoked by this special balance of colour and material. Blue is the colour of relaxation par excellence, capable of bringing a sense of tranquillity to guests who seek it. Wood provides warmth and also adds a touch of familiarity and privacy.

Objects that tell poems

The new objects selected by the General Manager give disposition to the room. These are retro pieces full of stories, all from the world of sport.

They also include memorabilia from the Poli family, such as Walter Poli’s father’s racket and sled, and skis that belonged to his grandfather and then his father.

No detail is accidental, from the skittles hanging on the wall to the billiard balls in the display case, or the baseball glove and trophies. These are all unique pieces, which represent the result of research over a long period of time. 

This is why these objects, rather than telling stories, recite poetry: the narrative linked to sport results in elegant and sophisticated verses, in which rhymes and assonances are harmonies of colour and materials. Those who spend time in this room will be able to enjoy the story and add anecdotes and experiences from their own lives, as they are transported to new worlds by the conversations that take place between a sip of rum and the sweet taste of a cigar.
