Christmas 2023 in Abano Terme and Padua to make your stay at Hotel Tritone even more magical

Guests who choose to spend a holiday period in December and early January have the opportunity to take part in the Christmas events at Hotel Tritone, spending an afternoon discovering the Christmas markets, listening to a concert or strolling among the golden illuminations.

Christmas 2023 in Padua

The city’s Christmas tree can be admired in all its beauty on the Liston in front of Palazzo Moroni. From here you can stroll through the streets of the centre to discover the illuminations (which use low-energy LED technology) on the main municipal buildings: Palazzo Moroni, Loggia Amulea and Teatro Verdi. There is also videomapping on the façades of a number of palaces and monuments (every day from 5pm to midnight), with static lighting on the Clock Tower, the Palazzo del Capitanio, the Loggia della Gran Guardia, the Palazzo della Ragione (Piazza dei Frutti side), the west façade of Palazzo Moroni and the Santuario dell’Arcella. The animated videomapping show is staged on Palazzo della Ragione (Piazza delle Erbe side).

The unmissable Christmas markets can be found in the Villaggio degli Eremitani, where you can stroll among the wooden chalets and enjoy tasting Christmas food and wine specialities and purchasing objects of exquisite quality.

Christmas shopping is also possible at the Christmas Fair (Piazza Duomo, Piazza dei Frutti, Piazza delle Erbe, Via Marsilio da Padova, Via Risorgimento, Via Oberdan, Via Cesare Battisti, Via Santa Lucia and Piazza dei Signori) or among the stalls of the 40 artisans exhibiting at the Natale Artigiano (Christmas Craftsmen’s Fair), where you can see these creative people at work.

In Prato della Valle, among the trees covered in luminescent gold, there is a 600 square metre ice skating rink. The indoor skating rink is heated. It offers the option of renting or purchasing helmets and gloves, a cloakroom service, and assisted skating sessions and teachers for individual and group lessons. (You can also enter with your own skates.)

For those who love music, there is an exciting programme of concerts including the New Year’s Eve concert with the Orchestra of Padua and Veneto conducted by Leonardo Sini (1 January, 5pm at the Verdi Theatre) and the tribute to Ennio Morricone by 40 musicians of the Italian Symphony Orchestra (6 January, 8.45pm at the Verdi Theatre).
