Movement that heals: Maya’s gentle and conscious approach
At Hotel Tritone, wellness is built step by step, movement by movement.
It is not only about relaxation, but also about balance, listening to the body and awareness. This is the philosophy behind the work of Maya, a physiotherapist and osteopath, who every day accompanies guests on a gentle but profound path, where movement becomes a true daily therapy.
We met with her to learn more about her approach and how activities such as yoga, water aerobics or gentle gymnastics can turn a stay into a rejuvenating experience.
Maya, tell us your journey and what brought you to the Tritone?
“I have a degree in physiotherapy and specialised in osteopathy. Here at Hotel Tritone I have found an ideal place to apply a comprehensive approach, thanks to the tools I have at my disposal: the pool for hydrokinesiotherapy, the gym for rehabilitation and all the motor activities we offer every day. It is a context that allows us to build tailor-made, truly effective pathways”.
What role does movement play in people’s health?
“A fundamental role. The right movement, guided by a professional, is an essential part of therapy. It helps not only to improve posture and breathing, but also to deal more harmoniously with any physical weaknesses. It is an alliance between body and mind.”
What motor activities do you propose to your guests?
“Over the years, I have incorporated various activities into my daily work with guests, such as yoga, gentle gymnastics and aquagym.
Yoga works on the balance between body and mind and improves flexibility and breathing. Water aerobics harnesses the power of thermal water to improve joint mobility and posture, while gentle gymnastics is suitable for everyone, with simple, gradual but very effective exercises.”
Every guest is different. How do you customise your approach?
“I observe, listen and evaluate. Every person has different needs, and even in group courses I always try to understand who I have in front of me. If I notice something that deserves attention, I offer advice or a more targeted treatment. Our goal is to make every guest feel good, in body and spirit.”
What are the most common findings?
“Many guests tell me that they feel better even after the first gentle exercise class: more loose and aware of their bodies. They are happy to have learned simple exercises that they can also do at home. Some, after trying a lesson, feel so good that they decide to continue with the activity even once they return to their daily routine. This is the most wonderful result.”
A practical tip to put into practice immediately?
“It is never too late to start moving. Even a small activity, if done consistently and carefully, can make a big difference. Movement prolongs life, improves your mood and helps restore balance and well-being. Just start, little by little.”
Do you have an invitation for the guests of Hotel Tritone?
“Participating in motor activities during the stay is an opportunity to complete one’s course of treatment. But it is also a moment of lightness, to be experienced in company, which can leave a small but precious reminder of well-being to take home with you too.”
An invitation to conscious movement
At Hotel Tritone, every motor activity is conceived as part of a broader wellness and prevention pathway. Through gentle, guided and customised movement, guests can regain balance, lightness and a new awareness of their bodies. A simple but profound way to take care of oneself, even during a holiday.
